The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) is a state agency in Michigan responsible for licensing and regulating various industries. It was originally formed in 1965 as the Department of Commerce and has undergone several name changes since then. In 1996, it was renamed the Department of Consumer and Industry Services and absorbed most of the Department of Labor.
